COMPLICATIONS OF DIABETES !!
COMPLICATIONS OF DIABETES !!
Diabetes is by an excess of sugar in the blood. It is chronic
hyperglycemia, which is toxic to the organs when it is not controlled and that
the blood glucose remains high during the day and at night.
Over time, it damages the blood vessels and nerves of the entire body.
This is why diabetes is at the origin of various complications affecting all
the organs of the human body.
We thus find affected vessels, macro-angiopathies for large diameter
vessels and micro-angiopathies for the smallest, in the eyes (diabetic retinopathy), in the
kidneys (nephropathy), in the nerves (neuropathy diabetic) and at the level of
the skin as well as infectious complications. These chronic complications can
lead to premature death and severe trauma such as leg amputation or loss of
sight (blindness).
People with diabetes should be vigilant and practice self-monitoring
glycemic and regularly consult the specialist doctor (diabetologist, ophthalmologist,
cardiologist, chiropodist ...)
There are also very serious complications of diabetes that can lead to
coma and, rarely, death in the absence of appropriate treatment. Be careful.
